Public places and pets

The rules for traveling with pets, especially dogs and cats, on an airplane vary depending on the airline, type of aircraft, destination, etc. Always contact the specific airline before purchasing a ticket to find out the details and organize your trip in the most pleasant and safe way for you and your pet.

There are some general rules and standards that apply:

  1. Pets must meet certain dimensions and weight in order to travel with you in the cabin. When traveling in the cargo sector, the restrictions are less;
  2. Pets must be in appropriate bag/cage that meet the safety standards of the respective airline and international standards;
  3. Veterinary vaccination documents are required, confirming that the animal is healthy and does not have an infectious disease;
  4. For dogs and cats transported in the cabin, it is often necessary to make a prior reservation and pay a fee;
  5. For animals traveling in the cargo area, advance reservation and additional payment are also required;
  6. When traveling in the cabin of the aircraft, pets remain in their transport bag/cage throughout the flight;
  7. Pets are usually placed under their owner's seat. For larger animals transported in cargo, this is a special cargo area.
